Weekly meetings will be every Monday and Wednesday at 5:30 pm in Talbot College, Room 341. If you didn’t get a chance to sign-up during clubs week, come on out to one of out meetings!
The meeting will consist of a training session followed by debate rounds. For those who feel they need more training, some of the first meetings will have rooms focused on training rather than debate. Feel free to watch debates until you are ready to get up at the front and talk yourself.
The debates in first semester will be in British Parliamentary style from September to December, and Canadian Parliamentary from January to April. For more information on this style, please see the link on the right hand side of the page.
If you haven’t already, please join our mailing list using the tab above. We will be sending out a weekly newsletter to keep everyone in the loop about club happenings, tournaments results, as well as future meeting rooms and tournaments we will be attending.
Club membership costs $20 dollars and guarantees you a spot in one tournament, which has an approximate value of $75 value. Tournaments are held across Ontario and Canada; where you can travel to places like Ottawa or Montreal with us, and experience the city while debating. Come compete against our rivals, such as Queens or Hart House, in competitive tournaments, where you can grow and refine your public speaking and debating skills – and have fun doing it.
